Prague!!!

There is just so much to talk about when it comes to Prague. First, the city is just beautiful!! The first thing that caught my eyes was the sunset going down over the city and just how spectacular it was and just how calming it made a world of maddens seem.  The first day we got to walk around and take an amazing tour of the city. Our tour guide Mirka was just so wonderful and amazing I really enjoyed listen to her talk to us about what happened to Prague before and after World War 2 and after the communists took over. She took us up to the Prague castle where we go to see the changing of the guard which was cool to see. Also, I just have to say holy tuba. The tuba player in the band could just blow and it was awesome!! While inside Prague Castel we got to visit the cathedral which just takes your breath away as soon as you walk in. It's just beautiful!!

A look inside the Prague Castle Cathedral.
A view of Prague Castle from the old town.
After we were done with our tour for the day we went to a dinner show at the Czech Folklore Dinner Show which was just an amazing time. We go to eat some amazing food and hands some amazing drinks. Also, we go to listen to some traditional Czech music and we also had the opportunity to show off our dancing abilities.

Frank, MacKenzie, Ben and myself.
Dr. Powell and Dr. Brown.
One the 13th of January we were able to go to the Musical Instrument Museum which was cool we go to see a lot of different instruments and what they looked like during the Barque age and how they developed through time.  Later that evening we got to go to the Philharmonia Octet at the Rudolfinum and go to witness an amazing program of music. It included Mozarts Serenade in C minor and Eight songs from the collection Des Knaben Wunderhorn by Gustav Mahler.

The following day was a long and emotional day we go to attend the concentration camp and ghetto Terezin. We all learn about the history of world war II and we somewhat try to grasp the magnitude of what happened but until you so there you smell the air inside these buildings, you see where these people lived and died and how massive the extent of extermination was if just unbelievable until you go there and see and hear it yourself. Something can not just be simply explained in a textbook or see in a documentary you have to go there and see it. Moments like this make you reflect on your own life and the lives of your preps and you can see that the "problems we have" are not a real problem and teaches us that we need to value what we have more because you never know when that can all be taken away from you.

After a long and emotional day at Terezin, we go to link up with another J-Term class that was here in Prague at the same time we were. We had dinner with them at U Supa which was just a wonderful dinner. After U Supa we then all head out to the Estates Thearter to watch Leonce and Lena which I have to say was just amazing it was a really well done, it was funny and it was a great way to bring younger people like me who might not have large experiences with battle and add them into their audience. I really loved it. It was a great way to end our time in Prague. Until we meet again Prague!!
