As the first city on our trip, Vienna was amazing. From the architecture and artwork to the
fantastic concerts we went to, it was a great first stop!
My favorite performance we went to in Vienna was Onegin, a
ballet. The only other time I had been
to a ballet was when I was a little kid and I probably slept through most of
it. The performance was amazing, from
the subtilties and precision in the orchestra lines to the flawless choreography
of the dancers. And besides from the
performance itself, the atmosphere of the hall only added to the show’s
quality. It was stunning, and a great
way to start the trip!
Right after the Onegin performance, Frank and I decided to head to the Porgy and Bess Jazz Club which is a world famous jazz venue. After a while of expertly navigating the city via subway........ we were able to sneak in for the last four tunes of a show featuring saxophonist Mark Turner. While you could tell the group hadn't yet totally refined their tunes together, it was still amazing to experience live music at this world famous venue.
